Finnish Company Level Organisation in the 1990s

Thanks to Janne Kemppi jkemppi@raita.oulu.fi for this.

Finnish army has two classes of main force troops: Jeger troops that are first line infantry and Infantry troops that are second line infantry. Jeger troops are formed around peace time training brigades and some war time created reserves and forces which do not have up to date equipment are formed as infantry brigades.

Jeger Battalions are either (T) or (Ps). T means tela (tracked) and Ps means Panssaroitu (Armoured). T battalions are armed with Bandvagn or NASU and Ps battalions are armed with ex-Soviet BTR60BP or preferably Finnish XA-180 Sisu. Equipment is uniform through the battalion.

machinegun using 100 round non-disintegrating belts fired from clothing
